Subclass 485 Temporary Graduate Visa

The requirement for applicants applying under the Graduate Work stream to (a) have a relevant qualification, and (b) hold a positive skills assessment in their nominated MLTSSL occupation, returned on 1 July 2023.

From 1 July, international higher education graduates with eligible qualifications will be granted an extra two years of post-study work rights. This change applies to international graduates with select degrees in areas with a verified skill shortage. A full list of the eligible courses may be found here.


Parent Visa Queue

The Department of Home Affairs has released visa applications that have been queued in date order for final processing. As of 30 June 2023, the following visa applications have been released for final processing:

  • Contributory Parent visa applications with a queue date up to May 2017
  • Parent visa applications with a queue date up to October 2011
  • Aged Parent visa applications with a queue date up to December 2012
